Wendy Lichtensteiger

This "Winter Wren" bird sculpture is hand carved from reclaimed 100 year old chestnut by Vermont artist Wendy Lichtensteiger. She carves all of her bird sculptures with realistic proportions, then stains them to reveal the characteristics and natural "feathery" grain of the chestnut. Once completed, they are mounted on bases made from driftwood or a found branch.
